I should probably start by explaining the trigger of my interest in computers, so here goes…
My tinkering with computers started thanks to my Dad. He used to bring old PCs back from his office and we’d pretty much take over the dining room table at the weekend. We would [I would] mess around loading crappy games from a 5.25 inch floppy disk, and occasionally dabble in some basic MS-Dos programming. I can still remember the mini screwdriver set we used, and my wonderment at the ingenious magnetic properties.
The weekend would usually end without achieving very much – but we looked busy – and more importantly we avoided household chores. Teamwork, one might say.
Several years on and not much has changed. Spare time is effortlessly lost staring into tiny LEDs. Browsing, blogging, designing, occasionally coding – and often researching technology and trends.
Maintaining my own website enables me to experiment and share things without the confines of certain social media channels.
I’m sure it will also serve as an important digital archive for when dementia and old age kicks-in.
There are a few ways to keep up-to-date with me. You can read my blog, perhaps follow me on Twitter, or view some of my favorite sites. I trust you’ll find something amusing, useful, perhaps edifying – if you do – then let me know.
